Hyatt Centric Shanghai Situated beside the iconic Shanghai Zhongshan Park.
Transforming an outdated hotel into a 1920s-inspired cultural hideaway, this project reimagines Shanghai’s golden age through immersive storytelling. A speakeasy-style clubhouse concealed behind a bespoke tailor shop facade pays homage to Zhongshan Park’s jazz-era glamour. Overcoming spatial constraints, we crafted compact yet luxurious guest rooms featuring convertible Chanel-inspired vanity desks, cinematic lighting, and bold purple-red palettes.
Public spaces blend Haipai elegance with British colonial touches: terrazzo floors, lacquered reception, and kinetic art echoing city energy. Flexible dining zones with sliding walls maximize efficiency, while the ballroom-turned-gallery showcases local artists. The bar, "Scenario 1555," juxtaposes chrome modernity with vintage flair—VIP access via hidden doors, paparazzi-effect lighting, and fabric-spindle art celebrating Shanghai’s eclectic soul.
Every detail—from qipao-fabric displays to director’s chair seating—immerses guests in a narrative of clandestine luxury and East-West fusion, transforming the hotel into a dynamic cultural destination.
