Inspired by Frank Sinatra’s classic Fly Me to the Moon, the interior redesign of the Ibis Styles Katowice Airport hotel by AKA Studio explores the themes of travel, freedom and imagination. The concept draws on the aesthetics of the Space Age and cosmic exploration, offering guests a sense of movement and discovery from the moment they enter. Located next to the dynamically developing Katowice Airport, the hotel underwent a complete functional and stylistic transformation. The new layout improves circulation and guest comfort, with the reception moved deeper into the lobby and combined with the bar area, while former small rooms were merged into a spacious, flexible breakfast zone. Deep blues, silvers and warm metallics evoke the night sky and lunar surface, balanced by natural wood and stone. Custom-designed furniture, copper details and ribbed mirrors reflect the hotel’s cosmic identity. The result is a cohesive, emotional and functional space that turns every stay into the beginning of a journey.
