V-Continent Chongqing Parkview Wuzhou Hotel is a luxury hotel of the BBMG Group. The design of the hotel draws inspiration from Chongqing's local culture. With "Dreaming Back to Chongqing" as the theme of landscape creation, the designer reinterprets ubiquitous elements from the city's depths—such as gray tiles, bracket set, bamboo weaving, and brocade—and integrates them with the Art Deco style to become a new artistic language for interior design. Adopting a fragmented locally focused design strategy, the designer maintains continuity throughout the spatial sequence, exploring contemporary urban aesthetics and lifestyles through a modern expression of cultural heritage.
The hotel's artwork designed by ceramic artist Guo Peng. The project creates a montage of spaces of different sizes and states that echo each other by manipulating the structure and materiality of the artwork and simultaneously intervening in the arrangement of the furnishings.
Collaged ceramic plate artworks are incorporated as visual nodes, adding rhythm to the three-dimensional space. Large-scale collages made from ceramic-fired tiles reshape the mountain city of Chongqing as remembered through generations.
