Din Tai Fung Manhattan is a 25,000-sq-ft, 450-seat restaurant designed to create an authentic and elevated dining experience that honors Taiwanese heritage. Located in the entire lower level of Paramount Plaza, the NYC location is the largest Din Tai Fung in the company’s portfolio, and was designed to evoke the feeling of descending into a traditional Chinese garden—with areas inspired by the process of moving through a bamboo forest, central pavilion, and courtyards.
Inside, the bar and dumpling kitchen is designed to feel like a welcoming main house, with home?like lighting, warm millwork, and tall lanterns framing the space. Flanking the bar, the two dining rooms mirror each other but feature distinct green and red jade palettes. Awning?inspired ceilings, contrasting floor tones, and garden?like details create an airy courtyard feel, while rounded banquettes and metal screens define intimate dining pods. The restaurant also features a private dining room with serene blue mural wallcoverings depicting pavilion architecture, echoing design motifs used across other Din Tai Fung locations. Every design detail reinforces this restaurant as a standout dining destination.
