A home is more than a functional space; it is a setting for everyday life. This project was designed as a refined and personal residence that reflects the owners’ new phase in life, with balance, simplicity, and tranquility as guiding principles.
The apartment is located in a historic building with direct access to a park, formerly housing the Norwegian School of Canning. The renovation respects the building’s history while introducing contemporary comfort, allowing traditional craftsmanship and modern living to coexist.
Within 125 square meters, the layout is carefully optimized. An open kitchen and living area forms the social core, while the private spaces offer calm and retreat. Custom-designed ceiling moldings frame the main rooms and continue into the master bedroom, where they transition into a hand-painted floral ceiling. This light expression contrasts with the darker, wood-clad wardrobe rooms, creating depth and intimacy.
Classical stone portals, bespoke furniture, and a restrained material palette of wood, marble, and muted green textiles create a timeless interior that allows the owners’ art collection to take center stage.
