Founded in 1766, the Omni Homestead Resort and Spa is a National Historic Landmark that has welcomed 23 U.S. presidents and remains one of America’s most storied destinations. A $140M, 790,000-square-foot multi-phase renovation reimagined 483 guestrooms and suites, grand public spaces, restaurants and bars, the spa, retail corridor, event venues, and indoor pool FF+E. Delivered through integrated services of interior design, architecture, and landscape architecture, the transformation was guided by five principles—traditional, lightness, residential, sophisticated, and iconic. Each of the five guestroom wings carries a distinct vintage-inspired palette drawn from historic patterns and Virginia’s natural beauty. Several signature spaces were reimagined like the Great Hall, the Lobby Bar, Georgian Room, and Martha’s Market. The Washington Library was restored as a sunroom with historic Virginia album pages on display. Vintage furniture and preserved artwork underscore the commitment to history. Guided by archival research, staff insights, and an on-site historian, the transformation spans more than 90% of the property, ensuring the Homestead’s legacy endures for generations.
