At Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp, the design harmoniously blends BIOPHILLIC principles with wild aesthetics to show nature’s raw beauty. The tents, perched 3.5m on stilts among the trees, are linked by elevated decks, floating above the ground, protecting the ecosystem below. Floor-to-ceiling windows dissolve the lines between nature and a luxury lodge. Inside, design elements are crafted from raw woods, handwoven natural textiles, and bespoke lighting. Bold, sustainable design deeply connected to the wild. Sustainability is key. Not only in materials, but in placement. Elevated on stilts, the structures allow wildlife to roam freely. Sustainability extends to its water management systems, bottling plant & water purification processes as well as solar power, electric vehicles and boats. It's a tapestry of artistry, tradition, and the land itself- weaving, carving, layering and exposing, shaping. It's a story of hands in clay, of chisels on wood, dyed fibres in a tactile experience just like the beauty and rich cultural heritage of Zambia. Tones of clay, copper, emerald and cobalt mirror the views. A mid-century style, sleek and minimalist, set a timeless scene for this lodge.
