An interior design concept was developed for The Deutz, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel that builds on the existing architectural framework and reinterprets it through a consistent, contemporary design language. The overarching theme, “The Opposite”, explores spatial and visual contrasts—between color and clarity, structure and softness, openness and intimacy. Color was used as a central design tool: applied to ceilings and walls either as large-scale fields or precise accents to define zones and guide movement. In the restaurant, a suspended element composed of lighting and integrated greenery traces the curved geometry of the buffet and standing tables, establishing a visual focal point. Fixed installations such as the reception desk, bar, and buffet remained in place and were carefully integrated into the new concept. Selected existing furniture was reused and recontextualized as part of a sustainable design strategy. The curated art collection was incorporated into the interior and extended the conceptual narrative. The result is a spatially and thematically coherent environment that connects public areas and guest rooms through a unified design approach.
