Located in historic downtown Fredericksburg, Albert Hotel builds on the Keidel family’s 175-year legacy in the Hill Country. Named for Albert Keidel—architect, preservationist, and civic figure—the family’s connection dates to 1847, when his great-grandfather arrived as the town doctor and judge. The hotel occupies the site of the original Keidel pharmacy and homestead, both preserved and integrated into the development.
The boutique hotel blends historic preservation with contemporary design to create a quiet, sophisticated retreat. Four historic structures—the Keidel family home, Brockmann-Kiehne House, Keidel Pharmacy, and White Elephant Saloon—maintain the traditional streetscape, while the 105-room hotel is set back to enhance a sense of escape. Accommodations range from bunkrooms and suites to a private house, complemented by three restaurants, two bars, private dining, a limestone pool, fitness center, 2,000-square-foot spa, and flexible event spaces.
The architecture draws from Hill Country traditions, pairing wood siding with custom raked stucco and deep roof overhangs. The landscape incorporates native Texas grasses and trees into meandering gardens throughout the site.
