Located in Ginza 7-chome, Tokyo, Salon du vin ivresse is a tranquil fifth-floor sanctuary removed from the urban bustle. The design prioritizes "ma" (negative space) to highlight subtle changes in aroma and temperature, capturing a profound flow of time rather than typical bar glamour.
Deep green stone anchors the counter, evoking a vineyard's shade. Wine bottles act as rhythmic elements shaping the space's density. On the front wall, Washi paper art utilizes white space, its fibers shifting appearance with light intensity—a nuance static photos cannot fully capture.
The interior layers stone, wood, and washi, harmonized by concealed lighting that refines the atmosphere through reflections. Gradated walls shift the spatial temperature. An abstract art piece defines the entrance threshold, while window-side artwork incorporates the cityscape as borrowed scenery.
Service elements are minimized to maintain spatial density. The core theme captures the quiet moment of tasting. Here, time slows; the rhythm of bottles, soft light, and the silence of stone harmonize to offer guests peace in the heart of Ginza.
