With this tea tasting, the designer creates a space where people slow down the moment they step inside. It invites guests to pause and reconnect with the ritual of tea. Using the texture and warmth of a teapot, a teacup, and each crafted object, the designer weaves the ancient spirit of tea culture into modern life. The entrance draws inspiration from Suzhou gardens, embracing the idea of borrowed Eastern scenery.
Screens shaped like tea trays define intimate tasting zones, while gold metallics and ink-wash bamboo wallpaper convey restrained beauty. Metal and wood shelving form a firm yet graceful aesthetic, and the backdrop’s bamboo-shadow motif evokes serenity.
A 10-foot-long handcrafted wooden table serves as the visual centerpiece. Its sculpted legs and fine craftsmanship reflect the meticulous art of tea preparation. Behind the reception, a mountain-inspired mural forms the backdrop for hand-made furniture where guests enjoy tea, evoking the calm of a mountain retreat.
Brush-written Chinese calligraphy adds cultural elegance, enriching the space with poetic charm and quiet sophistication — a vessel for dialogue between tea and people, between people and culture.
