Located in Atasehir, one of Istanbul’s most rapidly transforming districts, Urban Habitat proposes an ecological living model responding to the pressures of metropolitan life. The project seeks to restore the lost daily connection between urban residents and nature by offering a productive, calm, and restorative environment within the city.
Through productive gardens on every floor, the building forms a self-sustaining micro-ecosystem that supports organic cultivation while acting as an environmental buffer, reducing heat gain and allowing the structure to function like a living organism. Integrated systems such as rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and composting embed natural cycles into everyday life.
Urban Habitat extends beyond human-centered design by creating habitats for birds, pollinators, and other urban-adapted species, reintroducing biodiversity into the city. Rather than consuming nature, the project gives back—proposing a regenerative architectural model that supports multi-species coexistence and a more resilient urban future.
