The birth of Kunming Dongfeng Plaza Four Points by Sheraton was entrusted with a dual mission: breaking free from the constraints of traditional office building conversions and achieving a transformation from a "functional space" to an "urban boutique hotel" within less than a year while strictly controlling costs. Faced with challenges such as missing original blueprint data and complex structural conditions, the design team adopted a dynamic "demolish-and-design-as-we-go" approach. Through multiple on-site verifications of pipe well structures, seismic resistance assessments, and by integrating fire safety regulations with local cultural DNA, they revitalized a dormant office building into a modern, aesthetically pleasing, and culturally warm hos
