Located at the gateway to the picturesque historic city center of Heidelberg, the hotel, built as ‘Hotel Strieder’, the city's first grand hotel in the mid-19th century, was re-launched as HILTON Heidelberg with its 244 guestrooms and suites, arrival areas, lobby, restaurant & bar, executive lounge, event spaces fully refurbished and a new fitness area added.
The design takes inspiration from both the building’s legacy as well as the breathtaking natural beauty of Heidelberg's location tucked in between the river and the steep wooded hills topped by the famous romantic castle ruin, to define an unmistakable sense of place.
Warm metals, lacquered surfaced, molding details and feature surfaces of hand-painted wallcoverings and hand-crafted liquid metal panels provide a sense of timeless legacy, elevated living and refinement while biophilic patterns and greenery through-out give a strong sense of being surrounded by nature.
The guestroom corridors and guestrooms feature carpet patterns reminiscent of the play of light in leafy forests. Dark woods, plush signature headboards, chaise-lounges, generous tables and eclectic furniture give a timeless and distinct residential feel.
