When the Fairmont Olympic—a member of the National Register of Historic Places that originally opened in 1924—embarked on its historic restoration project, it did so with the goal of fusing modern elegance with classic timelessness.

They sought a design that would juxtapose the hotel’s heritage, detail, and legacy with a tasteful elevation of its already refined offerings. After three years of meticulous renovation, the Fairmont Olympic unveiled a brand new experience for a modern era.

Showcasing a new bar in a centralized location of the lobby, the team created cozy vignette spaces with various seating options that surround it. From barstools to library chairs to plush velour sofas, each offers its own experience and vibe.

Beyond, the newly restored restaurant and private dining area—having received new flooring, wall treatments, art, ceiling upgrades, and lighting—is defined by its soaring classical framework and its reputation for white-glove service.

Original chandeliers, wooden hand railings, and terrazzo and marble flooring were carefully salvaged, meticulously restored, and brought back to their original glory to complement the modern additions to the guest experience.
