Housed within the iconic Carbide and Carbon building on Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile, Venteux is a swanky French brasserie helmed by Donald Young, the city’s youngest chef to be awarded a MICHELIN Star.To bring Venteux to life, Young and national hospitality maverick Clique Hospitality enlisted world-renowned design firm Studio Munge to fully transform the existing 4,000 sq. ft. restaurant space into two separate culinary experiences, both of which embrace the French penchant for fine living. The romantic interior of Venteux’s intimate café area boasts a color palette of sage green, cream and terracotta with design accents such as an oversized brass pendant light, delicate moldings, speckled gold antique mirrors and floral textiles. Sunlight cascades through soaring 40-ft. windows, lush botanical murals cover the walls and guests can settle into one of the plush velvet booths or marble-topped tables. The glowing brasserie features seating upholstered in deep burgundy velvet, vintage Persian rugs and details such as expressive marbles, cognac leather and oak wood and an expansive bar runs the length of the eclectic dining area.
