In the Negishi Sushi Bar project, particular emphasis was placed on storytelling and scenography. A short story was written about two Japanese geishas who fall in love with each other and an artist in search of himself. The drama, full of passion and longing for freedom, was scenographically implemented in the rooms and brought to life. Each room is unique and characterizes a part and place from the story.
The Project impresses with a design that has been thought through down to the smallest detail. In the high main room, there is an interplay of various floating plants and ambient lights. With a mirrored ceiling, the reflection creates an atmosphere of size and space. The use of a wide variety of plants, detailed patination and authentic-looking gravel paths transforms the space into a green garden that transports the feeling of being "outside" into the interior. The studio area has a low ceiling, lots of props and creates a private, quieter and creative space. The perfection culminates in a staged silhouette film running as a projection in an oversized Japanese window.
