Following successes in Hong Kong and Paris, Uma Nota opened a new destination in Manila in March 2024. This Japanese-Brazilian restaurant merges art, design, and ambiance, redefining dining and nightlife. The designers capitalized on the building's grand arrival, corner staircase, and 8-meter double-height central area, creating an intimate and moody atmosphere. Spanning 650m², it includes The Living Room & Bar, Tropicalia (Brazilian Room), and Meiji (Japanese Room). Inspired by the cultural fusion of Japanese and Brazilian communities in São Paulo’s Liberdade neighborhood, the design transitions seamlessly from sophisticated dining to vibrant nightlife.
The Living Room features a hanging preserved tree with silk leaves. The bar combines industrial materials with soft finishes and a bespoke tropical wallcovering. Avoiding typical Brazil-inspired interiors, the design uses an ethereal, sculptural approach.
Tropicalia draws inspiration from the Brazilian movement that redefined 1970s counterculture, with a corner dedicated to music lovers. Meiji, is adorned with bespoke wallcovering in rich blues and gold leaf accents. Layered in textures, it offers a sensory-rich experience.
