The rooftop bar incorporates the memories of merchant ships passing through Fukuoka port and voyagers sailing its journey, with a contemporary design expression.
The space compromised with structure and parts of merchant ships will take guests to an immersive experience – one that would make them feel as if they are onboard.
Arriving at the lift lobby, guests are welcomed by a 10m wide, 2.7m high steeled artwork inspired by ship bow. The main bar is equipped with high counter, highchairs and a DJ booth. The copper metal ceiling captures the warmth of the flames radiating from the real gas lamps – a metaphorical expression of the sunset reflected on the Genkainada Sea surface. The curvature ceiling in the lounge area is inspired by ship hull. The space is encompassed with mixed and matched European style furniture with voyager’s collectibles and bespoke carpet with silhouette of water surface patterned inspired by Genkainada sea. Fireplace as an addition to elevate a cozy atmosphere. The memory of merchant ships and traces of voyagers in Fukuoka accumulated along the journey are translated into a contemporary design language, providing experience that is unique to this space.
