Set on its secluded private island, 130 kilometers south of Mahé in the Indian Ocean, Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island emerges as a serene sanctuary where luxury intertwines harmoniously with eco-conscious design.
Inspired by the island's vibrant flora and fauna, the resort's architecture and interiors embody a meticulous fusion of opulence and environmental mindfulness. The main buildings echo the beautiful colored and patterned tortoiseshell of the native Hawksbill turtles, forming faceted shapes that create light and airy canopies throughout the arrival building and villas. Sensitively positioned away from the shoreline, the villas boast expansive gardens that provide a serene haven for nesting sea turtles.
The resort's exclusive location on a private island with its own runway provides an exceptional experience, and amenities such as a kids' club, spa, outdoor observatory, tennis courts, and marine conservation discovery center make for a well-rounded luxury escape.
The resort's commitment to sustainability is evident through the use of a solar field for renewable energy, while its six restaurants and bars utilize fresh produce grown on the island itself.
Bio The premise of eco.id, a multidisciplinary practice founded in 1996, is a modern and progressive approach to design. The firm’s comprehensive suite of services range from master planning and architecture to interior design and branding, and project typologies that span high-rise luxury condominiums and detached dwellings to retail boutiques, hotels and resorts. Regardless of scale, the emphasis is always on balancing aesthetics with rigour, and program with budget.
